In Vertretungsstunde (Überleben), a substitute teacher Uzay (Joèl Kito Salvatore) arrives to reveal deeper fractures beneath the surface of the classroom.
What appears to be an ordinary lesson soon becomes an exploration of conformity, visibility, and identity among young people.
Through a playful yet sharp confrontation with structures of exclusion, Uzay and Scholle (Julia Korte) invite students to rediscover their voices.
Karim Gamil’s staging of Emel Aydoğdu’s text marks his Hanover debut, blending performance, reflection, and a quiet call for resistance.
